The post is a little long but I saw interesting things…
I didn’t summit but it was a blast. Weather ran the gamut: sunshine, fog, snow, groppel, hail, rain, and of course, lots of thunder and lightning.
Wilderness Gate selfie in the fog.
The always gorgeous Rio Nambe.
The intersection of Windsor and Skyline trails — about 4.5 miles in.
Weather looking iffy.
Then this — no more goal.
Large sections of Skyline still look like this.
Gray Jay enjoying someone’s discarded pit.
There’s a fungus among us!
Blurry squirrel — sucker is fast!
Deadwood — the Nikon AW100 has a nice “High Contrast B&W” filter.
A *very* popular pine tree.
Aspens against the clouds.
Ptarmigan — I’d never seen one in the Sangre De Cristos before.
I’m big. Look at my tail feathers and be afraid!
Almost out after getting hailed on again.
