I’m trying to get an old Kodak instant camera in shooting condition. It takes an oddball battery — a ‘J’ size 539 6V. I actually saw some on Amazon for $0.01. Yes, a penny. Where’s the fun in that?
You may have noticed that the meter reads minus 6.3V. I didn’t until I got home and tried it.
This makes no sense from a time or money standpoint. It’s a hideous kludge even a battery mama wouldn’t love. It was a lot of fun and I was able to start tinkering with the camera last night. Good experience too, for learning how to replace some of the more obscure mercury batteries.
